Defibrilators (AED)

 

The AFA has taken the decision to have defibrillators available at all sanctioned activities in the future. Defibrillators have been purchased for QLD, NSW, ACT and Victoria and the AFA will pay to hire defibrillators for sanctioned events in SA and Tasmania.

As far as is practical the AFA would like to see as many Clubs as possible have at least one member who has been through a defibrillator training program so that we have as wide a coverage as possible for sanctioned activities. Members are able to complete the Basic Defibrilator Training online, at no cost. The course should take approximately 30 minutes and a certificate of completion is available.

The AFA will maintain a register of trained operators. Once members have completed the online Defibrilator Training or are already trained in the operation of defibrillators are happy to be placed on the Register of trained operators, please let your Club Co-ordinator and the AFA Secretary know.
