EJS REPLACEMENT PROJECT – Feb 2026

The AFA’s Development sub-committee has responsibility for overseeing the replacement of the AFA’s ageing EJS. This has involved understanding the current and future requirements of the AFA to conduct flyball events.

There are significant risks for the AFA with the current EJS due to the unavailability of obsolete parts, lack of support, and not being adaptable to future flyball racing requirements, such as integration with other media.

The need to source or develop a replacement EJS is a significant undertaking and investment for the AFA. To this end, before engaging in a procurement process, the AFA Committee has approved an Expression of Interest (EOI) process. The EOI process allows the AFA to engage with prospective suppliers on the requirements of the EJS and assess suppliers' capability, before engaging in contractual arrangements. This will be a significant investment for the AFA.

The AFA Committee approved the process at the February 2026 meeting.

All prospective applicants are encouraged to contact the Development sub-committee via email [email protected] to have preliminary discussions on the AFA’s EJS requirements and their EOI response.

The EOI document can be accessed via the link below:

The EOI process closes at midnight 31st March 2026, and all EOIs must be lodged with the AFA Secretary via email [email protected].
